STATISTICS: Bosnian insurance market remained on track during 1Q

According to the 1Q financial figures published by the two market authorities which supervise the Bosnian insurance market (Insurance Supervisory Agency of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - NADOS, and Insurance Agency of Republika Srpska - AZORS) - the local insurance industry totalled almost EUR 75 million, at the end of March 2016, representing an increase of 7% y-o-y.

The "geographical premiums portfolio" was dominated by the insurance companies which are registered in the FBiH - 70.7% of the total GWP (or EUR 53 million), the remaining 20.3% (EUR 21.9 million) being registered by the RS's insurers.

Analysing the aggregate figures, the countries' GWP portfolio was formed mainly from MTPL insurance (46%), life policies (~20.5%), property (11%) and motor hull insurance (9.5%).

For the whole country, the strongest life insurer was the FbiH-based MERKUR (25.8% market share), while SARAJEVO lead the non-life ranking, with a 11% market share.
