Bulgarian insurance market reported January-September 2022 net profits worth BGN 245.78 million (EUR 125.67 million), up by 1.47% y-o-y as compared with the snapshot on 30 September 2021 (BGN 242.22 million), according to the market statistics published on Financial Supervisory Commission website.

Life insurers generated profits of BGN 51.23 million (EUR 26.19 million) vs. BGN 52.28 million a year before. Aggregate Q3 2022 profits posted by non-life insurers increased by 2.43% y-o-y to BGN 194.56 million (EUR 99.47 million) from BGN 189.93 million.

In terms of GWP, Bulgarian insurance market totaled BGN 2.64 billion (EUR 1.35 billion), up by 8.44% y-o-y, according to the official quarterly figures. Life insurers' GWP increased by 0.79% to BGN 442.68 million, while non-life insurers' GWP rose by 10.12% to BGN 2.20 billion.

DZI Life was the biggest player on the life insurance market with GWP of BGN 342.50 million (market share of 28.55%), while Euroins was the largest insurer on the non-life insurance market with GWP of BGN 169.9 million (15.53% market share).
