STATISTICS: CEE insurance market exceeds EUR 10 bn at the end of March 2021
The 17 CEE insurance markets have closed the Q1 2021 with aggregate GWP of EUR 10.34 billion, up by 4.66% y-o-y. Only four insurance markets posted negative dynamics, the others closing the quarter "in black", according to the data collected and centralized by xprimm.com from local insurance markets authorities and associations

At the same time, during Q1 2021 CEE insurers paid aggregate claims and indemnities worth EUR 5.46 million, 4.89% less y-o-y.

Per LoBs, life insurance segment totaled EUR 3.09 billion, up from EUR 2.97 billion in Q1 2020, while non-life classes generated GWP of EUR 7.24 billion (vs. EUR 6.91 billion), of which:
  • MoD: EUR 1.18 billion
  • Motor TPL: EUR 1.61 billion
  • Overall property: EUR 1.53 billion
The largest regional insurance markets were Poland (36.6% market share) followed by Czech Republic (16.5%) and Hungary (9.6%).
