STATISTICS: CIS, 1H2019: Uzbekistan has the highest GWP growth rate in euro, while Azerbaijani premiums fell by 6.5% y-o-y

According to the overall CIS data, total GWP increased slightly - by 4.60% only, while paid claims, on the contrary, keep high growing pace (+22.76%). At individual level, markets' dynamics looks very uneven, although with a rather weak change in their shares in the regional portfolio.

The highest growth rates both of GWP (+44.51%) and paid claims (+104.16%) in euro were demonstrated by Uzbekistan, its GWP reached EUR 128.78 million, at that the country's regional share amounted to only 1.02%. At the same time, regional weight of the leader, Russia, in euro decreased from 83.09% to 81.57%.

Besides the regional leader, TOP-5 CIS markets in terms of regional shares include Ukraine (7.27%), Kazakhstan (4.66%), Belarus (2.35%) and Azerbaijan (1.48%).

Except for Azerbaijan, almost all regional markets showed increasing GWP volumes at various paces. In addition to Uzbekistan, GWP increased significantly in Armenia, to EUR 48.52 million (+23.84), Ukraine, to EUR 917.96 million (+19.79%), as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan.

In terms of paid claims growth, Uzbekistan is followed by Kazakhstan (+40.77%), Georgia (+30.61%), Russia and Armenia.
