STATISTICS: CROATIA, 3Q2020: Insurers' GWP down by 1.43% y-o-y
The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers decreased by 1.43% y-o-y to HRK 8.042 billion (EUR 1.07 billion) at the end of September 2020, according to the quarterly figures published by the Croatian Insurance Bureau - CIB.

Non-life GWP increased by 4.25% to HRK 6.04 billion, whereas the life insurance segment earned premiums of HRK 2 billion during January-September 2020, down by 15.37% compared to end-September 2019.

Gross paid claims by insurers reported double digit increase (+12.18% y-o-y) to HRK 4.76 billion, due the increases registered by property classes (+38% y-o-y) - caused especially by the Zagreb earthquake.

In terms of GWP, CROATIA Osiguranje was the largest insurance company in the country (27.17% market share), followed by EUROHERC Osiguranje (12.21%) and ALLIANZ Hrvatska (10.99%).
