STATISTICS: ESTONIA, 1H: Insurers reported impressive rates across all LoB

Estonian insurers reported H1 2018 GWP of EUR 243 million, almost 17% more compared with January-June 2017, according to the market figures published by the Estonian National Statistics Board.

In GWP terms, the life segment was up by 4% to EUR 45 million (18.5% of total GWP), while the GWP by Estonian non-life insurers totaled EUR 198 million, 20.3% more y-o-y, due to impressive rates reported on all lines of businesses, the largest rates being recorded by "Accident and sickness" (+33.7%), and "property" (+23.4%).

The figures revealed that the market leaders as GWP volumes remained unchanged. Thus, among the five life insurers, the largest insurer was SWEDBANK Life Insurance SE (41.29% market share), while If P&C Insurance AS (~26%) lead the general insurance segment.
