Half year premiums underwritten by Greek insurers members of Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (HAIC) totaled EUR 2.13 billion, 9.4% more y-o-y according to end-June 2021 preliminary figures.

Per lines of business, non-life insurance segment slightly increased by 3.5% y-o-y to EUR 1.1 billion, of which EUR 358 million - Motor TPL, EUR 216 million - property lines, EUR 116 million - MoD, while the life insurance business line was up by 16.5% to EUR 1.03 billion - influenced by the positive dynamic reported by the UL life policies (+56% to EUR 284 million vs. EUR 182 million in H1 2020 ).

The market figures published by HAIC include the figures for 50 insurance companies of which 18 were active in life insurance (and accounted for 99.8% of the segment market's full data for 2019) and 45 were active in non-life insurance (94.6% market share).
