The insurance market of Kosovo totaled EUR 41.6 million at the end of Q1 2024, 22.3% more y-o-y, according to data provided by the Central Bank (CBK).

Life insurance GWP totaled EUR 2 million, according to the "Financial System - Monthly Information" released on CBK website vs. EUR 1.8 million a year before.

At the same time, non-life GWP increased by 22% y-o-y to EUR 39.6 million, of which EUR 17.6 million related to Domestic MTPL, and EUR 19.6 million - other voluntary classes, according to "The Insurance Companies Activity" published by CBK.

The figures reveal that the quarterly aggregate market result was positive, the 12 local insurers (of which seven are foreign owned) reporting a net profit of EUR 3.9 million, from a net profit of EUR 2.3 million at the end of March 2023. At the same time, the total assets held by Kosovo insurance companies increased to EUR 319.0 million at the end of Q1 2024, from EUR 289.9 million a year earlier.
