At the end of 2017, the Kyrgyz Republic insurance market totalled about KGS 1.06 billion (about EUR 13 million), according to the end-year market figures published on the market authority website.
The value of paid claims by local insurers was KGS 141.15 million (EUR 1.7 million) , of which 62% accounted by property insurance class.
In terms of premiums, health insurance policies generated about 12% of total market, liability insurance - about 13%, property classes - about 62%, the remaining rest being accounted by compulsory subclasses.
The largest insurers in the country were KYRGYZINSTRAKH (39% market share) followed by DJUBILI Kyrgyzstan Insurance Company (8.6%) and KYRGYZSTAN Insurance (8.4%).
