STATISTICS: LITHUANIA 1H: motor lines posted the largest GWP increases
Lithuanian insurers reported GWP of EUR 440 million in 1H 2018, 13.4% more y-o-y, according to the half-year figures published on the Central Bank's website.

The life insurance segment expanded by 7.1% y-o-y to EUR 117.4 million due the 11.2% increase posted by the index-linked and unit-linked products.

In case of non-life segment, the growth rate was more robust: +15.9% y-o-y to EUR 322 million. The largest increases were reported in the premiums of motor insurance classes (MoD +13.8%, MTPL +24.8%).

According to the Central Bank's statistics, Swedbank Life Insurance (22.3% market share), Aviva Lietuva (20%) and SEB gyvybes draudimas (17.2%) were the top 3 life insurers in the country as GWP.

Of 15 non-life insurers active in the country, the largest three as GWP were Lietuvos draudimas (~EUR 95 million), BTA Insurance Company (EUR 55 million) and ERGO (EUR 45 million).
