STATISTICS: LITHUANIA, 3Q: Life and motor insurance fueled the largest share of the market growth

Lithuania's insurance market increased in absolute value by EUR 82 million totalling EUR 580 million at the end of September 2017, according to the Lietuvos bankas's 3Q figures.

Non-life segment grew by 20.5% y-o-y to EUR 415 million (71.6% of total GWP), while life insurance market was up by 7.6 % to EUR 165 million.

In absolute values, the life segment and the two motor classes (MTPL, MoD) generates the largest increases: +EUR 11.6 million (life), +EUR 40.5 million (MTPL) and +EUR 15.7 million - MoD.

SWEDBANK Life Insurance (21.6% market share) and AVIVA Lietuva (20.8%) were the largest life insurers as GWP volume, while LIETUVOS draudimas, BTA Insurance Company and ERGO filialas lead the non-life segment - generating together about 60% of non-life GWP.
