STATISTICS: Lithuania: Q1 insurers' business expanded to almost a quarter billion euro
In the first quarter of the year, the Lithuanian insurance market grew by almost 4% y-o-y to EUR 249 million, while the value of payments decreased by 12% y-o-y to EUR 119 million, according to figures published by the Bank of Lithuania.

The amount of non-life GWP increased by 3% y-o-y to EUR 174 million, while the life insurance market grew by 6% to EUR 75 million.

According to the Central Bank's statistics, SWEDBANK Life Insurance (22.7% market share), COMPENSA Life Insurance (21%) and AVIVA Lietuva (18.8%) were the top 3 life insurers in the country for GWP.

Of 14 non-life insurers active in the country, the largest three in terms of GWP were Lietuvos draudimas (~EUR 50 million), BTA Insurance Company (~EUR 26.8 million) and ERGO (~EUR 22.8 million).
