STATISTICS: MOLDOVA: All insurers have gained profit in the first 9 months

All 15 insurance companies active on the Moldavian insurance market have concluded the first nine months of the year with a positive balance, according to data published by the National Commission of Financial Market (NCFM).

Thus, during the reporting period gross profit of insurers reached to MDL 240.36 million lei (EUR 11.67 million) compared to MDL 46.92 million in 3Q2014.

According to the National Commission of Financial Market of Moldova the first 6 insurance companies in profitability terms were MOLDASIG (MDL 91.3 million), followed by ASITO (MDL 55 million), GRAWE CARAT ASIGURARI (MDL 26.9 million million), KLASSIKA ASIGURARI (MDL 20.49 million), GARANTIE (MDL 13.77 million) and ASSTERA Grup (MDL 13.33 million).

In 3Q2015 the GWP totaled MDL 909.25 million (EUR 44.16 million), up by 1% y-o-y, according to the official data published by the National Commission of Financial Market of Moldova.

Due to depreciation of the national currency against the EUR by 9%, the GWP figure denominated in European currency showed a 8.83% decrease, to EUR 44.16 million.

At the same time, the claims paid by insurers decreased to MDL 251.10 million, down by 40% compared to January-September 2014.
