The largest CEE insurance market posted aggregate 3Q2022 GWP worth PLN 57.7 billion (EUR 10.8 billion), up by 3.6% y-o-y according to the quarterly statistics published by Polish KNF (Financial Supervision Authority). At the same time, claims and benefits paid by local insurers increased by ~11% y-o-y to PLN 33.6 billion or EUR 6.9 billion.

Life GWP decreased by 4.2% y-o-y to PLN 15.9 billion (EUR 3.3 billion), while the non-life insurance segment increased by 7.3% to PLN 36.9 billion (EUR 7.6 billion).

The largest insurer in the country was PZU which accounted for about 28.3% of non-life insurance segment (PLN 10.4 billion) and almost 40% of life sector (GWP worth PLN 6.3 billion).
