STATISTICS: SERBIA's insurers posted double digit increase in Q1 GWP
The GWP value of Serbian insurers totaled RSD 24.1 billion (EUR 195 million) in the first quarter of 2017, a 10% increase y-o-y, according to the National Bank of Serbia's (NBS) most recent report on the sector.

Non-life insurance made up 76.3% of total GWP, while the share of life insurance premiums was 23.7%.

In terms of paid claims, the aggregate value was ~EUR 66 million, of which, about EUR 30 million - generated by the two motor subclasses (MTPL and MoD, summed).

A total of 23 insurers operated on the market in Q1, one fewer compared with the same period last year.

Serbia's market leader as GWP was DUNAV OSIGURANJE: 27.7% market share - the equivalent of ~EUR 54 million in GWP.
