STATISTICS: SLOVENIA, FY2019: Life and health segments generates two thirds of total insurance paid claims and benefits
Slovenian insurance industry totaled EUR 2.52 billion at the end of 2019, 7.53% more y-o-y according to the Slovenian Insurance Association's year-end report. Non-life insurance made up 70% of total GWP, while the share of life insurance premiums was 30%.

In terms of paid claims, the aggregate value was EUR 1.64 billion, of which about EUR 525.33 million - life indemnities, EUR 514.60 million - health claims, and EUR 372 million - claims paid related to motor classes (MTPL and MoD, summed).

Slovenia's largest insurer in terms of GWP was Zavarovalnica TRIGLAV with a 26.18% market share - the equivalent of ~EUR 660 million in GWP followed by Zavarovalnica SAVA (17% market share) and VZAJEMNA zdravstvena zavarovalnica - the largest mutual voluntary health insurer in the country (13.4%).

Top 5 was completed by ADRIATIC SLOVENICA Zavarovalna druzba - recently acquired by Italian GENERALI Group - 12.5% market share and by the unit dedicated to health insurance activity part of TRIGLAV Group - TRIGLAV Zdravstvena zavarovalnica (7%).
