The insurance market of Serbia ended the first three quarters of 2023 with aggregate GWP worth RSD 115.61 billion (~EUR 986.47 million, up by 16.32% y-o-y), of which non-life insurance - RSD 94.19 billion (+18.97%), while the life insurance segment totaled RSD 21.42 billion, up by 5.94% y-o-y.
The value of paid claims expanded by 16.54% y-o-y to RSD 52.48 billion (~EUR 478 million), of which RSD 14.48 billion - life indemnities (up by 6.37%) and RSD 38 billion (+21% y-o-y) related to non-life classes.
In terms of premiums, at the end of September 2023, the largest insurance company in the country was DUNAV (GWP worth RSD 29.96 billion, market share of 25.91%), followed by GENERALI osiguranje with 19.38% market share, while DDOR was third with 11.05%.
A total of 16 insurance companies operated in the country at the end of September 2023.
