During Q1-Q3 2023, the Slovak insurance market totaled EUR 1.46 billion, 1.46% more y-o-y, according to the 9 months statistics published by the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS).
The life insurance segment was down by 4.63% y-o-y to EUR 559.06 million, while the non-life classes accounted for EUR 900.92 million (or 61.71% of total GWP), or 5.64% more y-o-y.
The value of paid claims by local insurers decreased by 16.26% y-o-y to EUR 709.62 million, of which EUR 309.28 million related to life indemnities, the remaining EUR 400.34 million being accounted by the other non-life subclasses.
