STATISTICS: TAJIKISTAN, 3Q2025: Insurance sector’s assets grow by nearly 29%

Total GWP for the first nine months of the year amounted to TJS 310.5 million (EUR 28.21 million), which is 8.95% more y-o-y. It’s worth noting that in euros the market growth was double-digit thanks to a more favorable exchange rate compared to 3Q2024.

Paid claims for the first three quarters of 2025 amounted to TJS 48.2 million (EUR 4.38 million), which indicates a rise by 138.61% y-o-y, or 2.4 times, according to data published in the National Bank's report.

Total number of insurance contracts concluded from January to September 2025 reached 1,733.1 thousand units, which is 12.7% more than in 3Q2024.

Insurance sector’s assets as of September 30, 2025, grew by 28.8% and amounted to TJS 1,061.4 million. The share of the insurance sector in the country's financial system assets for the first nine months of this year was 1.7%, and 0.6% of GDP, according to the National Bank's report.

Insurers' equity for the reporting period amounted to TJS 715.9 million, which indicates an increase of 42.7%, primarily due to a rise in the charter capital of some insurance companies. Total charter capital of the insurance sector as of September 30, 2025, amounted to TJS 515.6 million (+33.9%).

As of September 30, 2025, 16 insurance companies operated in Tajikistan's insurance sector, including one state-owned insurance company and 15 non-state insurance companies. Two of them also provide reinsurance services.
