STATISTICS: TURKISH insurers' Q1 GWP saw a 15.7% y-o-y positive trend
Turkish insurance market's GWP was of TRY 12.4 billion (about EUR 3.2 billion) in 1Q2017, 15.7% up y-o-y in nominal terms (and 4% more y-o-y in real terms), according to the preliminary data published by the local association - TSB.

Of the total, the non-life sector contributed with TRY 10.8 billion or 86.7%, while the life segment generated TRY 1.7 billion (13.4% of total). In terms of growth rates, the non-life sector grew by 11.7% while the life segment was up by 50.9%.

Of the 60 active members of TSB, the company which generated the largest premium volume was ALLIANZ Sigorta with TRY 1.4 billion (market share of 11.5%), followed by ANADOLU Sigorta with TRY 1.1 billion (9.0%) and AXA Sigorta with TRY 831 million (6.7%).
