STATISTICS: Turkish insurers pushed down the SEE market by 7.2% y-o-y

The South Eastern European insurance market (SEE) formed by Cyprus, Greece and Turkey totaled EUR 8.09 billion at the end of June 2017, down by 7.2% y-o-y, according to the preliminary figures centralized by XPRIMM.

The Turkish insurance market was the largest in the region (EUR 5.8 billion, more than 71% of the total), the decline reported by local insurers (a nominal decrease in European currency of about 10.5%) determining the regional trend.

The other two SEE markets - Cyprus (EUR 426.8 million) and Greece (EUR 1.91 billion) expanded by 6% and 1.2% respectively.
