According to "ARAD time series database" available on the CNB website (Czech National Bank) - the local insurance industry totaled at the end of 2016 about CZK 147.22 billion (~EUR 5.45 billion).

Data published by CNB include the results for the domestic insurers and branches of foreign companies.

For the life segment, the aggregate GWP value (incl. reinsurance) was CZK 59.59 billion (EUR 2.2 billion). The number of active policies reached 5,996,463, while the number of new policies - 683,509.

For the non-life segment, the same indicators were as follows: CZK 87.62 billion (GWP), 20,865,156 (active policies), 10,454,332 (new policies).
