Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (Peak Re), the Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, announced that Sascha Bruns has been appointed Director, Head of Global Retrocession. Mr. Bruns will lead the design and implementation of the company's retrocession strategy for global Property & Casualty business.

Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Bruns will start his new job stating with 1 September 2021 and will report to Franz Josef Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re.

"Sascha's background makes him a great fit for this newly created role. He has a keen understanding of the traditional covers as well as capital market securitization. With his network of retrocessionaires, reinsurers, brokers as well as alternative capital providers, I am confident that he will be a great addition to our team and a key contributor to the development of our retro strategy," said Mr. Hahn.

Mr. Bruns was previously Senior Underwriter & Deputy to the Head of Group Protections at Hannover Re, a company he joined almost two decades ago and had held positions of increasing seniority. He has broad experience in analyzing, structuring, placing and administrating natural catastrophe retrocessions programs, and is a Fellow member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
