On December 1, 2019, Sava Osiguranje - the Croatian branch of the Slovene Sava Re company -, fully acquired the portfolio of ERGO insurance and ERGO life insurance companies operating in Croatia, thus doubling its weight on the local market.

"Sava osiguranje is dedicated to the Croatian market and wants to continue to provide quality service to its policyholders and partners, and this acquisition of two ERGO companies is in line with our strategy aimed at further growth in the Croatian market," said David KASTELIC, Chairman of the Board of Sava Osiguranje.

Zarko Fatovic, future director of Sava osiguranje dd - Croatia Branch, emphasized: "Clients of ERGO Insurance and ERGO Life Insurance should be aware that nothing will change for them by transferring their portfolio, and that they retain all the rights and insurance protection they have contracted under their insurance policies. By merging our companies, we are enhancing our service offerings and empowering our sales channels, thereby increasing our availability to customers who will have additional opportunities through which they can contact us. "

Sava osiguranje dd - Branch Office Croatia operates in more than 50 sales offices throughout Croatia. It currently employs 357 employees serving a portfolio of over 218 thousand customers.

ERGO has recently sold several of its CEE businesses: the Hungarian and Slovakian subsidiaries were sold to Generali, the Turkish operations were taken over by TALANX, while the Bulgarian Euroins has acquired the subsidiaries in Romania, Belarus and Czech Republic.
