Swiss Re Names EMEA Run-Off Chief, CEO for Italy

Swiss Re said it appointed an executive to oversee legal finality, or run-off portfolio solutions, for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions while naming his successor as chief executive officer for Italy, reports Best Newswire.

Carlo COLETTA, current CEO for Italy with Swiss Re Europe SA, was named as Swiss Re's head of legal finality delivery for the EMEA region effective July 1. Swiss Re said in statement that under COLETTa's leadership, the legal finality solutions operation for the EMEA markets will gain "additional momentum." Swiss Re said legal finality solutions in EMEA includes the Italian market.

Legal finality solutions deal with the transfer and acquisition of run-off portfolios. Swiss Re said the operation uses "tools that are finding increasing use in EMEA to improve the operational and financial efficiency of companies working in the (re)insurance sector."

COLETTA has been working at Swiss Re since 1997 and has nearly 30 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance, the company said. He has been CEO of Italy for the past six years.

He is succeeded by Daniela D'Andrea, who is currently head of client markets life & health. Swiss Re said she is responsible for "several major clients in both the life and health and property and casualty segments."

D'Andrea joined Swiss Re in 2000 and has had roles of "increasing importance" for the group in the Italian market. Swiss Re noted its commitment "to this important market is confirmed and will be further strengthened" through D'Andrea's role under the leadership of Claudia Cordioli, head of the Italian and Iberian markets and the Mediterranean area.
