TURKEY: insurance market growing at a high speed
First half of 2011 meant for the Turkish insurance market a nominal growth in written premiums of about 25%, up to TRY 8.9 billion (EUR 3.8 billion), according to the data published by the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey.

Life insurance line registered a high y-o-y growth rate, of almost 40%, adding two percentage points to their market portfolio share, up to 17%. On the non-life side, motor insurance lines remain the main source of business, with a 37% share of the total written premium, while property insurance classes maintained their total weight almost unchanged, at about 22%.
