Members of the Insurance Association of Turkiye (TSB) elected Mr. Ahmet Yasar as the new President of the trade body at an ordinary general assembly held on 8 April, Middle East Insurance Review wrote.

It is noted that Mr. Yasar, President of Maher Holding Insurance Group, will serve a two-year term. He previously was the TSB’s Vice President and succeeds Mr. Ugur Gulen whose term in the office ended.

Mr. Yasar has played a key role in critical projects at the TSB as Vice President, such as digital transformation and financial sustainability of the sector.

“Our priorities will include increasing the depth of our sector, spreading insurance awareness to all segments of society, and supporting growth with innovative solutions. Together with all our stakeholders, we will move our sector forward through shared wisdom and strong cooperation”, said Mr. Ahmet Yasar, the 22nd TSB President, emphasizing the strategic role of the insurance sector in the Turkish economy in his acceptance speech.
