Are you an insurance agent or broker? Do you represent an insurance company, a bank or an institution that deals directly or indirectly with insurance? Become more familiar with the upcoming changes regarding insurance services activities in EU Member States by participating at the International Conference of Agents and Brokers in the Insurance Sector (ICABI). The conference is organized by the Institute of Insurance Maribor between the 23rd and 24th of September in Maribor, Slovenia.

According to a new report on the future developments in the labor market in the European Union, three out of four employees in the EU are projected to be working in the services sector by 2020, such as insurance and banking. The insurance industry in Europe contributes almost 10 percent to the GDP and only 6 percent in Slovenia. Therefore, it represents an extremely powerful generator of economic development. Given this context, ICABI becomes a platform for debating the challenges and opportunities in the insurance market.

Thus, the conference provides an opportunity for the professionals activating in the insurance industry to meet and exchange ideas regarding the safety of property and persons, as well as financial investments of individuals and companies. Moreover, ICABI is dedicated to everyone who would like to find out more about the future delivery of insurance services in the framework of the new EU Directives.

Sergej SIMONITI, Director of the Insurance Supervision Agency (Slovenia) will be one of the keynote speakers and lectors that will participate at the debates, together with well-known representatives of the local and international profile industry that will focus on important themes, including:

• "Regulations on insurance brokerage and representation in the countries of former Yugoslavia" - Prof. emeritus dr. sc. Sime IVANJKO (Slovenia);
• "The work of an insurance broker (emphasizing practice in Austria)" - Dr. Helmut TENSCHERT (Austria); 
• "Education of insurance brokers and agents" - Prof. dr. sc. Marijan CURKOVIC (Croatia); 
• "Current problems of representation and mediation in the Republic of Serbia and Macedonia" - Sabrija Imamovic (Serbia).
