28 March 2019 — Daniela GHETU
On March 1 this year the Polish Insurance Association (PIU) opened its representative office in Brussels. Its aim is to actively participate in legislative work on the European forum and to represent the interests of the Polish insurance market.

The PIU Office will also provide expert advisory voice in the implementation of EU regulations into national law. Iwona SZCZESNA joined the PIU, her task being to organize the work of the Chamber's office in Brussels. Her previous professional experience includes co-creating EIOPA and managing the International Cooperation Department in the field of insurance and pension funds in the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. "The Chamber was strengthened by a person with very extensive experience in the field of international cooperation. This is very important at a time when more and more regulations have their origin outside Poland. In order to best perform our statutory duties, we must constantly follow the work of the most important European institutions," Jan Grzegorz PRADZYNSKI, president of the board of PIU.

"I am pleased that the domestic insurance market will have its permanent representative in Brussels. It is a great honor for me and the opportunity to support statutory self-government in the interest of the Polish market," Iwona SZCZESNA said.
