UKRAINE: Kirill Shevchenko dismissed from the post of Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine

13 October 2022 —
On October 6, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a resolution on the dismissal of Kirill Shevchenko from the post of Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, a position that he was appointed to on July 16, 2020, Forinsurer reports.

According to earlier reports, Kirill Shevchenko, incumbent head of the National Bank of Ukraine, resigned for health reasons on October 4. The president issued a recommendation to the Rada, and the parliament's financial committee approved the resignation on October 6, Interfax said.

During the work of Kirill Shevchenko as Chairman of the NBU, the market of non-banking financial services was actively reformed. The National Bank has kept Ukraine's international reserves at a sufficient level, which makes it possible to support the Ukrainian economy and smooth out uneven receipts of foreign aid.

Until the appointment of a new head, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Ekaterina Rozhkova will act as the Chairman.
