UKRAINE: MetLife paid claims in the first quarter grew by almost a third y-o-y

In 1Q2021, paid claims of the largest life insurer MetLife amounted to UAH 62.2 million (EUR 1.90 million*), which is almost a third more y-o-y. The largest share in the structure of the company's paid claims fell on survivor life insurance payments (32% of the total), Forinsurer reports.

According to the insurer, the number of insured events also increased - by almost 24% compared to the first quarter of 2020.

For the period between 2003 and 2021, since the beginning of MetLife`s activity in the life insurance market of Ukraine, total paid claims of the company exceeded UAH 920 million and, according to the Insurance TOP, for more than 5 years, the company has remained the unchanged leader on the Ukrainian life insurance market in terms of GWP, paid claims and other key indicators.
