In 2019, motor insurance on the Ukrainian market (MTPL, Motor Hull and Green Card summed) increased by 16.5% y-o-y, to UAH 15.1 billion (~EUR 0.57 billion), Forinsurer reports.

MTPL GWP amounted to UAH 5.1 billion (33.7% of total motor insurance premiums), while Motor Hull GWP reached UAH 8.1 billion (+16.7%), and Green Card - UAH 1.9 billion (+25.7%).

Motor insurance total paid claims increased by 15.1%, to UAH 6.7 billion (~EUR 0.25 billion). The share of MTPL in total segment's paid claims amounted to 37.6%. (UAH 2.5 billion). While under Motor Hull insurers last year paid UAH 3.6 billion (+13.6%), and under Green Card policies - UAH 611 million (also +13.6% y-o-y).

The level of paid claims in GWP for Motor Hull at the end of 2019 decreased to 44% (from 45.2% a year ago), but for MTPL, on the contrary, went up to 49.7% (from 47.7%).

TAS was the leader in terms of MTPL GWP in 2019 (UAH 604 million), as well as in terms of Green Card premiums (UAH 367 million), while ARX was the Motor Hull leader (almost UAH 1.4 billion), as Forinsurer informed.
