UKRAINE: Stets announced the mandatory insurance for journalists

The Ministry of information policy (MIP) of Ukraine initiates to regulate the issue of compulsory insurance of journalists. This was on the occasion of world press freedom day was declared by the Minister of information policy Yuriy stets, reports the website of the Ministry.

"Given the outrageous to the modern world cases of impunity and caring about the safety of journalists, shortly, the MIP initiates changes in legislation regarding insurance. The topic will raise, along with the Council of Europe and NUJU (national Union of journalists of Ukraine. - "GORDON"), media representatives and insurers," he said.

Stec also called on the world to pay attention to the cases of the detained by Russian security forces Ukrainian journalists Roman Sushchenko and Nicholas Semeny. Situation, the Minister praised as "examples of violations of journalists' profession and freedom of speech on the part of the Russian Federation".

"Without the support of international organizations, opinion leaders of European countries the quick release is not achieved," he says.
