The overall structure of eligible assets for calculating the regulatory capital of Ukrainian insurance companies as of October 1, 2024, demonstrates stability and ensures compliance with solvency requirements, Forinsurer writes based on the analysis of insurers' reports provided to the NBU (National Bank).

According to the financial statements of insurers for 9M2024, the amount of eligible assets of insurers increased to UAH 64 billion (~EUR 1.40 billion), and the largest share is occupied by bank deposits, government securities and funds in current accounts.

By the end of the reporting period, total cash in current accounts amounted to UAH 4.35 billion, which provides significant liquidity for insurers. Bank deposits continue to lead in the asset structure, reaching UAH 21.7 billion, which confirms the insurers' tendency to use low-risk investments to maintain financial stability.

The total value of real estate owned by insurers is UAH 2.37 billion, which indicates preservation of long-term investments in physical assets. Securities also play an important role in the asset structure. Shares account for UAH 20.7 million, corporate bonds - UAH 538 million, and bonds of international financial organizations - UAH 465 million.

Particular attention should be paid to investments in government securities, which reached UAH 21.7 billion. This demonstrates a high level of confidence in government debt instruments as a reliable source of capital preservation.

Cash in the centralized insurance reserve funds of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine amount to UAH 7.6 billion, which indicates the industry's readiness to fulfill its obligations to policyholders in motor insurance.

These indicators reflect the efforts of Ukrainian insurers to ensure financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements. The structure of eligible assets indicates a desire to diversify investment portfolios and maintain a sufficient level of liquidity, the source added.
