UKRAINE: at the beginning of August, total number of insurers decreased by 4 to 177

As of July 31, 2021, 160 non-life insurers (vs 162 as of June 30) and 17 life insurers (vs 19) operate in the Ukrainian market, i.e. in a month, the number of insurance companies decreased by 4, Forinsurer reports.

In total, in July, the National Bank of Ukraine received 537 inquiries from market participants on registration and licensing actions. Of these, the number of inquiries from insurers was 72. As of July 31, the National Bank made decisions to issue licenses to one insurer; cancel all licenses of 4 insurance companies (at the initiative of the applicants); suspend licenses of one insurer; exclude 4 insurance companies from the register (at the initiative of the applicants); register amendments and new rules for voluntary insurance of 3 insurers.
