At the end of 2020, the number of electronic MTPL policies exceeded 3 million units, which is 2.5 times more y-o-y. The amount of premiums under electronic contracts reached UAH 2.6 billion/~EUR 74.84 million* (+176% y-o-y in UAH), MTIBU reports.

More than a third of the total number of MTPL policies was concluded in electronic form. Thus, the share of e-MTPL contracts in 2020 was approximately 37%, while in 2019 it was 15%, and in 2018 - only about 2%.

General Director of MTIBU Vladimir SHEVCHENKO emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to MTPL digitalization. He noted that MTPL market should gradually move to the introduction of procedures for remote settlement of all insurance events.

"Remote settlement with the help of Internet technologies is one of the main strategic objectives of the industry digitalization. Possibility to conclude or renew an insurance contract, receive compensation using electronic channels of interaction, without "paperwork" and visits to organizations involved in the settlement of insurance events, has become especially important in the context of the coronavirus pandemic", he explained.
