UZBEKISTAN: Agricultural Insurance Fund to be created

3 December 2025 — Marina MAGNAVAL
An Agricultural Insurance Fund will be created in Uzbekistan to protect producers from natural and man-made risks, uzdaily reports, citing a government statement.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On effective organization of agroinsurance mechanism" aimed at compensating for damage to plants and animals from disasters, fires, diseases, and pests, as well as gradually increasing agricultural production by 20% by 2030, the source writes.

Starting in 2026, producers receiving preferential loans will be able to gradually insure against the risk of loss or destruction of their products.

It is noted that the "Agricultural Insurance" information system is planned to be launched by the end of 2025 to simplify interactions between producers and the Fund.
