Ukaine: The most recently created association of insurers has gathered five members

Three new companies have joined the recently founded National Association of Insurers of Ukraine. Thus, currently the association has five members: Universalna and Krayina, (founding members) and the Ukrainian Insurance Group, UNIQA and Globus insurance company, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

The National Association of Insurers of Ukraine was registered on November 1, 2017, being the fifth professional association in the country. The other fours associations are: League of Insurance Organisations of Ukraine (LIOU), Ukrainian Insurance Federation, "Insurance Business" Association, and "Union of Kharkov Insurers".

Natalia HUDYMA is heading the new association after a 4 year period when she acted as General Director and President of the League of Insurance Organisations of Ukraine (LIOU) and as General Manager of the Motor Insurers Bureau in 2014.

HUDYMA has told Interfax-Ukraine that the association of insurers is a non-profit organization, created on the basis of professional affiliation, community of interests and unites companies that share the goals and objectives of the association. The priority areas of its activities are the development and implementation of a high level of rules and standards of activity in the insurance services market. She also noted that the association intends to interact with other professional associations of the market in order to create a civilized and highly professional financial services market in Ukraine.

The union plans, in particular, to participate in the development and improvement of legislation in the sphere of financial services, organization and conduct of an independent examination of legislative and regulatory acts, the creation of an attractive environment for foreign investors in the Ukrainian insurance market, the promotion of a high level of economic efficiency, competitiveness and social responsibility of the activities of the association members.
