KAZAKHSTAN: Transition to a digital work model allowed Freedom Insurance to save about KZT 1.5 billion in 2024

26 August 2025 — Marina MAGNAVAL
Digital platforms are increasingly changing the rules of the game in the insurance market of Kazakhstan, and one of the striking examples is the experience of Freedom Insurance, which, with the help of its own service DTP.kz, demonstrated how to increase transparency of loss settlement, reduce administrative costs and strengthen customer confidence, Allinsurance.kz writes.

According to Alexander Tuleshov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Freedom Insurance, transition to a digital work model made it possible to exclude intermediaries (accident commissioners, inspectors, etc.), which minimized corruption risks and helped the company save about KZT 1.5 billion (~EUR 2.74 million) in 2024 alone. At the same time, the efficiency of claim processing has increased significantly: 2,697 payments were made in 2024, and 16,341 payments in just 7 months of 2025.

It is noted that the DTP.kz service allows a client to file an insurance claim in a few clicks: data is automatically pulled from the policy and government databases, and the claim status is displayed in the personal account in real time. This significantly reduces bureaucratic delays and eliminates the human factor in terms of interaction with the client. Besides, the system allows working not only with MTPL, but also with other types of insurance - except for corporate and international reinsurance programs.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Freedom Insurance, the DTP.kz project has become proof that digitalization is not just a trend, but a key vector for the development of insurance in Kazakhstan. Elimination of unnecessary links, acceleration of the settlement process and automation create a new reality in which both business and clients benefit, the source added.
