The number of the insurer's contracts concluded in the first 6 months of this year (included in the TOP-15 insurers) exceeded 4 million, which corresponds to the results for the same period last year. The largest part of GWP under contracts (80%) was generated by retail products, the remaining 20% - by corporate insurance. One third of the company's GWP falls on mortgage insurance contracts, and this segment also saw a significant increase in the number of concluded contracts.
Paid claims of SberInsurance for the first half of the year amounted to RUB 1.2 billion, which is 32% more y-o-y. Significant growth was recorded in the mortgage insurance, where paid claims increased 2.5 times - up to RUB 268 million.
"I am very pleased that our business is growing. Accident insurance, bank card protection and voluntary home insurance programs contributed greatly to the results of the half-year. Among other things, the preferential mortgage program significantly increased the demand for housing, which, in its turn, led to an increase in demand for mortgage insurance. This had a great impact on our half-year results, but we expect to significantly improve them by the end of the year. I would also like to note that our volumes in corporate types doubled. This was facilitated by the launch of insurance against environmental risks, insurance of trade loans, as well as space and aircraft insurance. In July, voluntary health insurance for individuals was launched, in the 4th quarter we will enter the MTPL market. Working in these segments will allow us to gain a significant market share and bring us closer to leading positions in the non-life insurance", Mikhail VOLKOV, General Director of SberInsurance said.
