VIG Re has announced a change in its Board of Management, with Catrina Gemmerich set to succeed Stephan Wirz as Chief Business Officer (CBO) as of March 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Wirz will complete his mandate as Board Member and CBO on the same date, following a structured handover period.

Stephan Wirz joined VIG Re’s Board of Management in May 2021 and contributed to the company’s growth and the strengthening of its position in the international reinsurance market. A reinsurance professional with almost three decades of experience, he previously spent 24 years with Swiss Re, holding several management positions in Asia and the Middle East.
Gemmerich currently serves as Managing Director of VIG Re Germany and Market Head of DACH, Nordics & Southern Europe. Since joining VIG Re in February 2023, she has developed the Munich operation into an important commercial hub, built a new underwriting team and strengthened the reinsurer’s market presence in Germany. Before joining VIG Re, she held various underwriting and client management roles at Munich Re.
