The largest CEE insurance market posted aggregate 3Q2023 GWP worth PLN 57.7 billion (EUR 12.5 billion), up by 9.4% y-o-y according to the quarterly statistics published by Polish KNF (Financial Supervision Authority). At the same time, claims and benefits paid by local insurers decreased by ~1.6% y-o-y to PLN 33 billion or EUR 7.1 billion.
Life GWP was up by 7.2% y-o-y to over PLN 17 billion (EUR 3.7 billion), while the non-life insurance segment increased by 10.3% to PLN 40.6 billion (EUR 8.8 billion).
The largest insurer in the country was PZU which accounted for about 28.4% of non-life insurance segment (PLN 11.5 billion) and over 40% of life sector (GWP worth PLN 6.8 billion).
