In January-August of this year, 16 insurance companies in Azerbaijan collected AZN 1.04 billion (~EUR 526.67 million) in premiums, which is 13% more y-o-y, ABC.AZ reports, citing the Central Bank.

Insurers' paid claims in the reporting period totaled AZN 603.41 million (~EUR 303.22 million), which represents 21.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

It is noted that in the first eight months, insurers paid AZN 57.6 out of every AZN 100 collected in premiums. For the same period last year, this figure was AZN 53.7, the source writes.
