ARMENIA: Insurance sector’s net profit in 9M2025 rises due to high tariffs

25 November 2025 — Marina MAGNAVAL
Armenia's insurance sector’s net profit increased fourfold year-on-year in the first nine months of 2025 (vs a 77.5% decline a year ago), reaching AMD 2.8 billion (USD 7.3 million), ArmInfo reports.

It is noted that this was the result of increased tariffs which allowed premium dynamics return to double-digit growth from a decline recorded a year ago, and a slowdown in paid claims growth, according to the Financial Rating of Armenian Insurance Companies, prepared by ArmInfo based on published financial statements and additional data requested from insurers.

In terms of net profit for the reporting period, REGO Insurance ranked first with AMD 620.5 million, followed by Armenia Insurance (AMD 590.3 million), and LIGA Insurance (AMD 578 million), which has moved up to third, pushing Nairi Insurance down to fourth place (AMD 494.3 million). Among the seven insurance companies, operating on the market, INGO ranked last as it failed to generate any profit year-on-year, only managing to reduce its loss to AMD 53.2 million, the source added.
