The number of farms using state-supported agricultural insurance in Azerbaijan is growing, as are paid claims.

According to Trend, citing the Agricultural Insurance Fund, the Fund paid out AZN 4.4 million (~EUR 2.34 million) in 2023 and AZN 6.4 million (~EUR 3.61 million) in 2024. In 2025, farmers received AZN 8.8 million (~EUR 4.4 million) in compensation for insured events.

Last year, a total of AZN 5.17 million was paid for wheat and barley crops, which is 63% more y-o-y. Payments for cotton fields amounted to AZN 958,000 (+8%).

It is noted that in Azerbaijan, agricultural insurance is provided with state support. To support farmers, the state pays 50% of the insurance premium. As a result, farmers can insure their crops by paying a minimum.
