AZERBAIJAN: Reinsurance premiums ceded decrease by 12% last year

In 2025, reinsurance premiums declined by 12% y-o-y, reaching AZN 135 million (~EUR 67.42 million),

ABC.AZ reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to ABC.AZ, citing the Central Bank's annual Financial Stability Report, the share of ceded reinsurance premiums amounted to 8.4%. It is noted that 4.7% of ceded reinsurance premiums (or AZN 6.3 million) were for life insurance, while 95.3% (AZN 128.8 million) were for non-life.

In the life insurance segment, premiums ceded to reinsurance accounted for 0.97% of the premiums collected, and in the non-life insurance segment the share of reinsurance reached 15.1% of the premiums collected.
