AZERBAIJAN's Presidential Administration concerned about quality of insurance services in country

8 April 2015 —
Baku hosts the III National Forum of Insurance Agents.

At the Forum deputy head of the State Insurance Supervision Service under the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan, Mushfig Israfilov, said that the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan received a letter from the Service that the latter gets a great deal of complaints that insurers avoid from compensation payments to policyholders.

"In this regard, the SISS established a special commission to identify and eliminate problems associated with appreciation and protection of the rights of clients. The Commission will study and analyze the situation of each insurance company and even activities of agents of insurance companies. Every Wednesday from 3 pm till 5 pm the Ministry of Finance will hold the open days. Each policyholder will be able to come to the Ministry and file his complaints," Israfilov said.

He points out that in 2014 the Ministry received 1,170 complaints and appeals versus 738 in 2013, and only 20% of last year's complaints were considered well-founded.

"Specially created commission will investigate the causes for the increase in complaints and take appropriate measures to minimize them," Israfilov added. Read the full story AZERBAIJAN's Presidential Administration concerned about quality of insurance services in country
