As a result of heavy rains, mudflows, strong winds and hail, farms were damaged in several regions of Azerbaijan, in connection with which the number of applications to the Agricultural Insurance Fund has increased in recent days, Trend reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the Agricultural Insurance Fund has received more than 900 applications, over half of which were registered in May-June.

So far, the Agricultural Insurance Fund has insured 400,000 hectares of sown areas in the country. According to the fund, the process of assessing the damage caused is currently underway. Since fall and spring crops are the harvesting period, the final assessment is also carried out on previously damaged areas. Upon completion of this process, farmers will be reimbursed for losses.
