Achmea has appointed Hanno Mijer as a member of the Supervisory Board of Achmea. Wim de Weijer has stepped down as a Supervisory Board member and Vice-Chairman due to the expiration of his term of appointment. He had been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2016, the company announced.

“Hanno Mijer has extensive experience in the international insurance sector and possesses strong managerial and supervisory expertise. This makes him a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board of Achmea. We look forward to his insights and contributions. We thank Wim de Weijer for his dedication and valuable contribution to Achmea’s solid course over the past ten years. In doing so, he has explicitly applied his social and cooperative compass when addressing broad societal issues”, said Jan van den Berg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Achmea.

During the General Meeting, Chairman Jan van den Berg – a member of the Supervisory Board of Achmea since 2018 – was also reappointed for a period of two years.

Also, according to the company, Rogier Peters will be appointed as a member of the Executive Board and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Achmea effective October 1, 2026. He succeeds Michiel Delfos, who will step down from his position at that time. Rogier Peters has worked as CRO at the international insurer MSIG Europe, specializing in business property and casualty and maritime insurance, since 2020.

“The appointment of Rogier strengthens the integrated risk perspective within the Executive Board. Given his actuarial and international background, I am convinced that he will make a valuable contribution to the execution of our strategy towards 2030, with a focus on integrated risk management. We are proud to welcome someone of his caliber and look forward to working together”, commented Bianca Tetteroo, Chair of the Executive Board of Achmea.
