Adam Uszpolewicz appointed President of the Polish Insurance Association

On 7 May 2026, the PIU Ordinary General Meeting elected Adam Uszpolewicz as President of the Management Board of the Polish Insurance Association (PIU).

“I would like to thank the representatives of the insurance companies for their trust. I believe that the greatest value is built together: by combining market experience with the courage to embrace change, listening to the Chamber’s members, partners and customers, and looking optimistically to the future. My ambition is to create a space for cooperation where knowledge and innovation translate into the real development of the market,” said Adam Uszpolewicz.

He has 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, including more than 20 years as CEO of insurance companies in Poland and abroad.

Between 2007 and 2022, he headed the British insurance and investment group Aviva in Poland. Earlier in his career, he was associated with the US-based Nationwide Group, where he served as CEO of insurance companies in Poland and Luxembourg.

Uszpolewicz also worked as Development Director at General Electric Capital in London, as well as an auditor and consultant at Price Waterhouse in Warsaw and London.

Over the years, he has served on numerous supervisory boards of insurance and investment companies in Poland, Luxembourg, France, Türkiye and Lithuania. Between 2024 and 2026, he chaired the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board of PZU. He currently serves on the Supervisory Board of Orange Polska and is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of WWF Poland Foundation.

A graduate of the University of Copenhagen, he also holds an ACCA certification.

According to the Association’s Statute, the process of selecting the candidate for the position of President of the Management Board of PIU was conducted by the PIU Audit Committee, while the General Meeting voted on the candidate recommended by the Committee.

Piotr Wrzesiński remains a member of the Management Board as Vice President of PIU.
